CAREER ORIENTATION AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: 27 MAY 2022 - DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE IN COLLABORATION WITH EUREKA

A webinar was conducted by Department of Science in Collaboration with Eureka club, an association of Physics. Dr.Sreejith Pandinhatteeri was the resource person for the event. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, Manipal Center for Natural Sciences, Manipal. It was conducted for all the Science graduates of the College and 60 students participated in the session.

The resource person started the session with an introduction and explained the importance mission Adity-L1. Aditya-L1 is a spacecraft mission to study the Sun. It has been designed and will be built in collaboration between the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and various Indian research institutes. It is ISRO’s second space-based astronomy mission after AstroSat for a scientific expedition to study the Sun. The resource person went on to explain various technological aspects of the space observatory and also showed some rare photos of Sun. From this session students got an awareness on Aditya-L1 and it also sparked a sense of curiosity among students in Astrophysics.
