ADMISSION PROCESS
Kindly read these instructions and the College Prospectus before filling in the Application Form
Applicant can choose either the OFFLINE or ONLINE PROCESS to apply.
THE OFFLINE PROCESS
- Applicant can obtain the Application Form after paying the Application Fee (Rs 500/-) at the Reception of St Francis de Sales College, Electronics City and submitting it (Timings: 8:30 am to 3 pm)
- Download the PDF Format of the Application Form and sending the Form with a DD of the Application Fee (Rs 500/-) (in the name of “Principal, SFS COLLEGE”) to:
The Principal, SFS College, Electronics City Post, Bengaluru 560 100.

GENERAL NORMS FOR ADMISSIONS
The following are the documents needed in original for Admission:
Karnataka Students
1. Class X or SSLC Marks Card.
2. PUC or +2 or Class XII or Equivalent Marks Card (I & II Year).
3. Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
4. Transfer Certificate.
5. Passport size photographs in formal dress – 06
6. Caste Certificate (if applicable)
Non- Karnataka Students
1. Class X or SSLC Marks Card.
2. PUC or +2 or Class XII or Equivalent Marks Card (I & II Year)
3. Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
4. Transfer Certificate
5. Migration Certificate.
6. Passport size photographs in formal dress – 06
7. Caste and Income Certificate (if applicable).
Foreign Students
1. Mark Statements of respective country equivalent to Higher Secondary.
2. Testimonial
3. Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
4. 10 passport size photographs in formals (latest).
5. Birth Certificate.
6. Residential Certificate from their country.
7. Provisional Eligibility Certificate.
8. Valid Student Visa.
9. Copy of passport attested by Gazetted Officer.
- Incomplete Applications will not be processed.
- The Applicant should be personally present for Admission along with the Parent / Guardian.
- The candidate should satisfy all other conditions set by Bangalore University.
- After the counselling/interview, the candidates selected shall be enrolled after the payment of fee as per the fee structure. Final Admission is subject to the University’s approval.
- No Transfer from one discipline to any other is permitted.
Conditions pertaining to submission of documents
- At the time of admission, candidates must submit all the original documents, copies and other relevant documents as well as a hard copy of the completed application form.
- Students should ensure that they keep a photocopy of the documents for themselves before submitting the same to the Academic office/admission department.
- The original documents submitted will be returned to the students only after the university registration or at the end of the program.
- In order to take back these documents, student must produce the documents’ acknowledgement receipt received during the time of admission.
Eligibility for Admission:
- Admission will be on merit.
- No recommendations will be entertained.

UNDERGRADUATE COURSES
B.A. (BACHELOR OF ARTS)
BA (JPE) - Journalism – Psychology - Optional English
BA (SEP) - Sociology – Economics - Psychology
BA (HEP) – History-Economics-Political Science
BA (HES) – History-Economics-Sociology
The B.A., degree which offers a specialization in Journalism, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Optional English, Political Science, History and Computer Science leads to a holistic understanding of social sciences. The combination offered, help a student fine tune the social skills and provide an awareness of the social reality.
Course duration: 3 years
Eligibility: Pass in 10+2/Pre-University Course/ equivalent courses recognized by Bangalore University.
B.SC. (BACHELOR OF SCIENCE)
BSc (MEC): Mathematics - Electronics – Computer Science
BSc (PCM): Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics
Bsc (CJP): Computer Science-Journalism-Psychology
B.Sc is a three year under graduate program under Bangalore University spanning over six semesters. It follows triple major system where in students study Computer Science, Mathematics and Electronics or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects. The three year program paves way for taking up further postgraduate programs in computer science, mathematics or Electronics.
Course duration: 3 years
Eligibility: Pass in 10+2/Pre-University Course/ equivalent course recognized by Bangalore University.
B.COM (BATCHELOR OF COMMERCE)
BCom (F/A): Finance and Accounts
BCom (T/T): Travel and Tourism
This course presently is chosen by most of the students as there seem to be wide range of opportunities open for them. This course is expected to develop in the students the required knowledge and skills for achieving wisdom through excellence in the field of Commerce and Business.

BBA (BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION)
This course aims to introduce business management to students as vehicle to imbibe knowledge that would equip them for a forte in the in the industry or no-trading organizations or as executives. The syllabus provides an insight into the economic, social and legal environment in which today’s business operate.
Course duration: 3 years
Eligibility: Pass in 10+2/Pre-University Course/ equivalent course recognized by Bangalore University.
BCA: (BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATION)
The Department of Compute Science was established to meet the demand for qualified computer professionals. The programme is designed to cater to the ever changing needs and demands of the IT industry. The course gives to the students an exposure on system analysis, design and application life cycle management practices.
Course duration: 3 years
Eligibility: Pass in 10+2/Pre-University Course/ equivalent course recognized by Bangalore University.
POSTGRADUATE COURSES OF STUDY
M.COM (Master of Commerce)
Course duration: Two year full-time course
Eligibility: A Candidate who has passed 10+2+3 with B.com/BBA degree from Bangalore University or any other university recognized as equivalent are eligible for admission, provided they have obtained not less than 50% (45% for SC/ST/Category-1 candidates) marks in the aggregate in Commerce subjects.
M.Com (F/A) (Master of Commerce in Finance and Accounts)
Course duration: Two year full-time course
Eligibility: A Candidate who has passed 10+2+3 with B.com/BBA degree from Bangalore University or any other university recognized as equivalent is eligible for admission provided, they have obtained not less than 50% (45% for SC/ST/Category-1 candidates) marks in the aggregate in Commerce Subjects.
M.A in English (Master of Arts in English)
Course duration: Two year full-time course
Eligibility: A Candidate who has passed 10+2+3 with BA/BSc or B.com degree from Bangalore University or any other university recognized as equivalent is eligible for admission, provided they have scored 55% (50% for SC/ST/Category-1 candidates) marks in the concerned language in the degree course.
M.Sc Psychology (Master of Science in Psychology)
Course duration: Two year full-time course
Eligibility: Candidates with 40% marks in the aggregate of all the Optional Subjects in 3 years of Under graduation, with Psychology as one of the subjects and having scored aggregate 50% marks in the same.
M.A Economics (Master of Arts in Economics)
Course duration: Two year full-time course
Eligibility: Candidates who have secured 40% marks in the aggregate of all subjects and 50% marks in the cognate subject at the Bachelors degree level.
M.Sc Mathematics (Master of Science in Mathematics)
Course duration: Two year full-time course: Program Code: MSM
Eligibility: B.A./B.Sc. with Honors in Mathematics or B.A./B.Sc. (pass course) with Mathematics as one of the subjects having at least 50% marks in aggregate.
PG Diploma in Psychological Counselling
Course duration: One year (2 semesters)
Eligibility: A graduate of Bangalore University or any other recognized university in India having studied in a regular course, in any of the following optional subject. Viz., Psychology/ Sociology/ Social Work/Home Science/ Human Resource Development (Management)., or B.Ed., or a graduate in any discipline of Rehabilitation Science – A Doctor (from any medical faculty such as Allopathy/Ayurveda/Unani/Homeopathy), paramedical rehabilitation: Nurse, physiotherapist, Occupational therapist, speech therapist, audiologist with 50% marks in aggregate (including languages). The degree is awarded by the Bangalore University.
PG Diploma in Human Resource Management
Course duration: One year (2 semesters)
Eligibility: Candidate with 40% marks in aggregate in Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree of any discipline of a recognized University are eligible of admission. Candidates studying in a regular course of study in any discipline are not eligible for admission. The degree is awarded by the Bangalore University.
