DEBATE ON MANUAL ACCOUNTING VS COMPUTERISED ACCOUNTING: 25 OCTOBER 2021 – DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Debate on Manual Accounting Vs Computerized Accounting as a Class activity was conducted for 5 th semester BBA students by Prof. Ashwini C on 25 th October 2021. The objective of this session was to make the students understand the importance of computers in business.

A short introduction regarding the objective, purpose and the tasks that needs to be executed was explained in detail. All the students were divided into 2 groups wherein one group spoke for manual accounting and the other spoke for computerized accounting. Each student was asked to give his/her opinion on usage of computers and information technology in the business. There was a healthy debate held between the 2 groups and the conclusion was drawn that in the present scenario computers play a very important role for the success of business in the long run and economical too.

Such activities enable the students to gain knowledge on various advantages and disadvantages of manual accounting and computerized accounting as well. It helps the students gain knowledge on applications of business for various purposes and builds team spirit.
