ELOCUTION COMPETITION: 22 NOVEMBER 2022 - CHAUCER’S CLUB OF DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH

The elocution competition was conducted to improve the speaking skills of the students and make them actively participate in competition. The Department of English under the banner of Chaucer’s Club organized an elocution competition for the UG students on 22nd November 2022. The topic for the competition was “If I had Super Power”. Ms. Sonia Baby, PRO of SFS College and Prof. Kumara Swamy, Assistant Professor, Department of MBA were the judges of the competition.

Prof. Noor Nigar, Assistant Professor of English introduced the judges to the audience and a brief talk about the selected topic was given. In today’s generation there is a great demand for super powers, whether its real life scenarios or movies. For this purpose, the department of English decided this very unique topic for the students. Around 25 students participated in the competition. Desalite Sudarshan, an abled student came forward and he inspired other students and proved that disability is not a barrier. The participants actively participated in the competition and inspired other students to improve their elocution skills.

Three students were declared winners and the winner list is as follows:
Ist Place - Stephen, V III B.Com D
2nd Place - Ambika Singh III B.Sc
3rd Place - Himanshi, III B.Com D
