NATIONAL UNITY DAY 2023: 31 OCTOBER 2023 – NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)

On 31st October,2023 Unity Day was conducted by cadets of SFS degree college belonging to 1/1 COY ARMY WING under the leadership of our ANO Capt. Sampath Kumar R.Unity Day was an occasion celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervours at SFS College. This year, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) took the lead in organizing a series of events to mark this important day, fostering unity, harmony, and a sense of national pride among the students and cadets.

The day kicked off with a spirited morning marathon of 3km around the outer wing of the college, this included the active participation of not only NCC cadets but also a significant number of students from the college. The marathon aimed to promote physical fitness and encourage a sense of togetherness among participants. The event was well-organized and provided a platform for students to come together, irrespective of their backgrounds, to celebrate the essence of unity. Following the marathon, a quiz, essay and pencil sketch competition was held in the college. The quiz comprised questions related to India's history, culture, and diversity, reinforcing the importance of unity in diversity. Teams from various departments and NCC cadets participated, making it a highly competitive and engaging event. The quiz not only tested the participants knowledge but also educated them about the significance of unity in the Indian context. An essay and vent were organized, featuring a pencil sketch competition and an essay writing contest. The pencil sketch competition encouraged students to visually express the theme of unity. The artists showcased their creativity through their drawings, reflecting the various aspects of unity in India. Simultaneously, the essay competition encouraged participants to pen down their thoughts on unity and its role in the development of the nation. These events allowed students to engage in artistic and literary expression while promoting unity as a core value.

The Unity Day celebrations organized by NCC in SFS College were a resounding success, emphasizing the importance of unity and togetherness. The events not only brought students and cadets together but also helped in creating a sense of unity and pride in being a part of India's rich and diverse culture. Such celebrations play a crucial role in shaping the minds of young individuals and reinforcing the values of unity and harmony in the nation. This event served as a reminder that unity is the strength of the country and that it should be cherished and upheld in all walks of life.
