Guest Lecture on “Future of Psychology”: 16 th June 2021 - Dept. of Psychology (PG)

Dept. of Psychology, Postgraduate Centre organized Guest Lecture on “Future of Psychology” on 16 th June 2021. The focus of the session was to enable students with the career options that could be availed doing Postgraduation in Psychology. Faculty from the Dept. of Psychology, Postgraduate Centre addressed students pursuing Psychology (UG) in the College. Prof. Shamala R and Prof. Dakshina U Kanthy were the resource persons. 46 students aspiring for future in psychology joined the session

Session 1: Ms. Shamala started the session by giving basic knowledge about the importance of Psychology. She concentrated on the Pure Psychology and Careers associated with this.

Session 2: Ms. Dakshina started by mentioning the different fields coming under Applied Psychology. Major fields were highlighted and different opportunities and applications of the fields were briefed.

Guest Lecture on “Future of Psychology” had focused on empowering students with knowledge related to career and job opportunities in the field of Psychology. The sessions enlightened students with the importance of higher education in the path of building career. The forum was open for question and answer towards the end of both the sessions. Students had several doubts with regard to careers, application of jobs, opportunities and employment generation in the field of Psychology which were cleared by the resource persons.
