A SESSION ON SCIENTIFIC CALCULATOR - QUICK WIT: 6 JUNE 2023 – DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE

A session on scientific calculator - QUICK WIT was conducted on 6th June 2023 as activity by the Math π rates club. Math π rates is an association of students interested in promoting mathematics in the campus. The association has the mission to facilitate the study of mathematics beyond the classrooms and realise mathematics as an integral part of their life.

The activity was conducted in class under the guidance of Prof. Rashmi N, Co-ordinator, Department of Science. The students from VI SEM BSC (MEC) and VI SEM BSC (PCM) were part of this activity. Around 30 students participated in the activity. The presentation was given by students Hamsaveni from VI sem MEC & Devishree from VI sem MEC.

The Theme of the activity was about “Scientific calculators”. The activity was conducted to get the basic knowledge of the scientific calculators and to learn about it and use it the most efficient way. The session started with the basic introduction about the scientific calculators then explained about basic tips and tricks to use scientific calculators. In addition to this, they demonstrated different methodologies, functionalities about solving mathematical equations such as solving matrices, complex numbers, definite integrals, differentiation etc. It was an enriching and valuable learning for the students participated in the session.
