ADMISSION GUIDELINES

The following are the documents needed in original for Admission for UG Courses:

Karnataka Students
1. Class X or SSLC Marks Card.
2. PUC or +2 or Class XII or Equivalent Marks Card (I & II Year).
3. Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
4. Transfer Certificate.
5. Passport size photographs in formal dress - 06
6. Caste Certificate (if applicable)

Non- Karnataka Students
1. Class X or SSLC Marks Card.
2. PUC or +2 or Class XII or Equivalent Marks Card (I & II Year)
3. Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
4. Transfer Certificate
5. Migration Certificate.
6. Passport size photographs in formal dress - 06
7. Caste and Income Certificate (if applicable).

Foreign Students
1. Mark Statements of respective country equivalent to Higher Secondary.
2. Testimonial
3. Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
4. 10 passport size photographs in formals (latest).
5. Birth Certificate.
6. Residential Certificate from their country.
7. Provisional Eligibility Certificate.
8. Valid Student Visa.
9. Copy of passport attested by Gazetted Officer.

Incomplete Applications will not be processed.
• The Applicant should be personally present for Admission along with the Parent / Guardian.
• The candidate should satisfy all other conditions set by Bangalore University.
• After the counselling/interview, the candidates selected shall be enrolled after the payment of fee as per the fee structure. Final Admission is subject to the University's approval.
• No Transfer from one discipline to any other is permitted.

Conditions pertaining to submission of documents
• At the time of admission, candidates must submit all the original documents, copies and other relevant documents as well as a hard copy of the completed application form.
• Students should ensure that they keep a photocopy of the documents for themselves before submitting the same to the Academic Office/Admission Department.
• The original documents submitted will be returned to the students only after the university registration or at the end of the program.
• In order to take back these documents, student must produce the documents’ acknowledgement receipt received during the time of admission.

Eligibility for Admission
• Admission will be on merit.
• No recommendations will be entertained.

I. School of Business and Management. Department of Business Administration. A session by Alumni Student.


On 25th July 2024 the Department of Business Administration Program In charge Assistant Professor. Raman deep Kaur organized a session by Alumni Student Ms. Ruchita.S In a recent alumni session, Ms. Ruchitha S. an esteemed graduate of St. Francis De College, generously shared her invaluable experiences and perspectives with current students. Her insights provided a vivid picture of life at the college, focusing on various aspects such as faculty, facilities, and the overall learning environment. This note aims to encapsulate the essence of her discussion, offering a glimpse into what future juniors can expect from their educational journey at St. Francis De College.




II.Orientation Program on Carrier Development.


The objective of the Program:

To provide an overview of industry-relevant tools like SAP, HR Analytics, and Financial Analytics.
To enhance the understanding of how these skills align with modern business practices.
To create awareness about the practical application of these tools in various industries.
To motivate students to pursue certifications in these areas for career advancement.

Key Highlights of the Program

Ms. Jane Christie Carolene began the session with an engaging introduction, emphasizing the importance of skill development in today’s competitive job market.

1. SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products):

Ms. Jane discussed the fundamentals of SAP and its applications in enterprise resource planning (ERP). She elaborated on its role in streamlining business processes and managing complex data systems efficiently.

2. HR Analytics:

The session delved into the significance of HR analytics in decision-making processes within organizations. Ms. Jane illustrated its application in talent management, performance evaluation, and workforce optimization, highlighting its growing demand in HR functions.

3. Financial Analytics:

Financial analytics was presented as a critical tool for making data-driven decisions in finance. The resource person demonstrated its application in risk assessment, profitability analysis, and strategic planning through real-life examples.

Interactive Session

III.FESTEMBER (DASARA).


The objective of the Program:

To engage students in a variety of interactive and fun-filled activities.
To encourage teamwork and student participation across all departments.
To provide an opportunity for students to showcase their organizational and leadership skills.
To create a vibrant and lively campus atmosphere through cultural and recreational events.

Report:

FESTAMBER (DESARA) is an cultural fest organized by the School of Business and Management, aimed at fostering student engagement, team spirit, and creativity. The event is designed to provide a platform for students to showcase their talents while promoting fun and collaboration.

Activities Conducted:

Breaking the Pot:

A traditional game that involved students trying to break a pot while blindfolded. This activity generated excitement and high participation, promoting collaboration and fun.

Food Stalls:

Various food stalls were set up, offering students an opportunity to taste different cuisines. The stalls were run by students, promoting entrepreneurship and creativity in food presentation and sales.

Flash Mob:

A lively and energetic flash mob performance took place, surprising the crowd and energizing the atmosphere. This dance performance showcased the students' talent and was one of the highlights of the fest.

DJ and Music:

A DJ was arranged to play music, creating a lively ambiance. The DJ session encouraged students to gather, dance, and enjoy, adding to the festive spirit of the event.



IV.Activity on "The Role of Research in Quality Education and Graduate Success"


Dr. Annapoorna's lecture was centered around the pivotal role that research plays in improving the quality of education and contributing to the success of graduates. The lecture was structured into several key sections:

Introduction to Research in Education:

Dr. Annapoorna began by emphasizing the significance of research in the academic field, particularly in higher education. She pointed out that research is not merely a tool for knowledge discovery but also a critical factor in enhancing the learning process and outcomes.

Research Methodology:

A substantial part of the lecture was dedicated to explaining the different methodologies used in educational research. Dr. Annapoorna elaborated on both qualitative and quantitative research methods, highlighting their respective advantages and applicability in various educational contexts. She also discussed mixed-methods research, which combines both qualitative and quantitative approaches to provide a more comprehensive understanding of educational phenomena.

V. INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO REID & TAYLOR'S FACILITY IN MYSORE.


The BBA students embarked on an industrial visit to Reid & Taylor's facility in Mysore, led by faculty coordinators Gulla Keerthi and Ms. Sonia. The visit commenced with an introduction to the company's history and its evolution within the textile industry. The students were then given a tour of the manufacturing unit, where they observed different phases of textile production, including spinning, weaving, dyeing, and finishing.

The company’s representatives explained each step, offering insights into their stringent quality control measures, the machinery used, and the skilled labor involved. Students observed how Reid & Taylor maintains its commitment to producing high-quality fabrics while adhering to sustainability practices. Additionally, the session emphasized the brand's positioning strategies in both domestic and international markets, allowing students to draw parallels between theory and practice.

Outcomes

Enhanced Industry Knowledge:

Students gained hands-on experience and a clearer understanding of textile production processes.

Exposure to Real-world Business Practices: The visit illustrated how management theories are applied within the textile industry, reinforcing classroom lessons.
