Festivals and Events

St Francis de Sales College takes pride and joy in celebrating National and International festivals throughout the year in order to create awareness and to impart the essence of the remarkable sacrifice done by our leaders. These celebrations forge a bond of togetherness among the students who come from various religious and cultural backgrounds.

Since time immemorial, celebrating national festivals has become part of our life. These festivities help to commemorate the noble deeds of martyrs and legends, and thus to reminiscence the victorious moments of the brave warriors and the brilliant icons In addition, festivals are celebrated to recall the glorious heritage, culture and traditions of a Nation as a learning experience for students.

The Desalite family celebrates the Feast of its Patron Saint St. Francis de Sales, every year on the 24 th of January, 2020. Festivities of National and State importance – namely Independence Day, Teacher’s Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanthi, Kannada Rajyothsava and the Republic Day of the Country, are celebrated with great fervour and patriotism.

The College also celebrates other days of cultural, academic and social importance – National Science Day, International Women’s Day, World Health day, World Environment Day etc. Teacher’s Day is also celebrated as “Share life, Give blood” Day –a self-offering by students to the society, in acknowledgment and gratitude of the teaching fraternity. Festive bells in College are chimed through the entire Christmas Season with various ‘The Joy of Giving’ programmes.

Apart from these celebrations, the College has various events like Fresher’s day, Graduation day Inter and Intra Departmental, Collegiate, University Fest and Competitions, Workshops, Seminars with eminent people as guests to enhance knowledge in order to help students to reach higher levels in education.
