NSS Volunteers involved in Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) – an initiative of the UNICEF - to address COVID-19 issues in various slums –Aug 23-25, 2020

NSS Volunteers Harshith CP and Sanandu Shivaram under the guidance of Prof Karibasavana Gowda, NSS Program Officer actively participated in the Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) – an initiative of the UNICEF - to address COVID-19 issues in various slums from Aug 23-25, 2020.

They created awareness among the people on the importance of wearing masks and using sanitizers in order to combat the pandemic. They also highlighted the need to maintain social distancing as a safety measure for the well-being of all.

Nearly 135 people were given masks and sanitizers in the villages of Vaderamanchana Halli- Jigini, Chikkbijalahatti - Kanakpura Taluk - Ramnagara District and Thandya – Maralwadi.

The UNICEF has provided guidelines on Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) during this time of the pandemic, and the NSS Volunteers made available this information to the people in the villages.
