NATIONAL TOURISM DAY 2023: 25 JANUARY 2023 - DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE (TOURISM AND TRAVEL)

The department of Commerce - Travel and Tourism had come up with exhibition on INDIAN UNESCO Heritage sites 2023, on the National Tourism Day - 25 January 2023 at St Francis De Sales Degree College. The main purpose of National Tourism Day is to promote Indian tourist places and bring them to the world stage as tourism is said to be the backbone of the Indian economy and people have to be made aware of the importance of the social, political, financial and cultural value of tourism at the global level.

Principal Rev. Fr Roy and Vice Principal Rev.Fr. Jijo inaugurated the exhibition and the tourism club “LA TOURISMO”. The motive of having this club is to encourage students have fun learning and organize tourism activities. The club is formed with the objective of creating awareness among the students about Tourism activities and to incorporate the student’s strength and potential in the development of tourism in our State.

Famous UNESCO heritage models were displayed such as Kaziranga National Park, Golden Temple, Hampi, Taj Mahal and Charts were displayed. Students explained about every models and conducted quiz on heritage places. Rev. Fr. Roy addressed the gathering by motivating them to make the club active and participate in Tourism Clubs to facilitate development of soft skills like teamwork, management, leadership. The inaugural session ended with group photography and congratulating students and faculty members of tourism department for organizing the program in a successful way.
